A little about Sugar Skulls -
Sugar skulls or calaveras have alway been one of my favorite things - I love the the lines, love the colors, love the shapes! When I taught art - the students' absolutely loved the until on the art of Dia De Los Muertos. The Spanish teacher across the hall and I would partner up to share with students not only the art and the beauty but the history and culture behind it. These skulls do represent death, but death doesn't have to be bitter is can be sweet. The day is all about celebration and not sorrow.
